Mindfulness is about living in the moment. This is easy to say and can be challenging to achieve.
Even when we think we are living in the now, our mind can be "off somewhere else". Thinking about what happened yesterday or what may or may not occur tomorrow.
Mindfulness practise is not new, it has been around for thousands of years. What is new is the MBSR/MBCT approach which has encompassed the key principles and practises of Mindfulness and packaged it in a scientifically proven way which has helped to heal many people with cronic stress, pain and related illnesses.

8 Week Mindfulness Course
The eight week course is an excellent way to integrate Mindfulness into your daily life. During the sessions, you will learn a various meditations, which can become a regular part of your daily routine. The course consists of eight weekly 2 hour sessions and one full day of Mindfulness meditation.
The course is based on the Mindfulness Stress Reduction (MBSR) course developed in Massachusetts by Jon Kabat-Zinn and the Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy programme (MBCT) developed by Williams, Teasdale and Segal in the UK.
Scientific research has shown that taking an eight week course in mindfulness can measurably reduce your stress levels, improve your immune system and increase your body's capacity for self-healing.
During the eight week course each participant is given plenty of opportunity to explore and reflect upon their experience. The course is suitable for complete beginners, however those with previous meditation experience will also benefit.
Course attendance is by application only - please email email@example.com for an application form. Once received, I will contact you to arrange a telephone pre-course discussion of up to 30 minutes to ensure that this is the right course for you. This is also a chance for you to ask any questions. Once agreed, you can then confirm your place with a non-refundable deposit of £50. The balance should then be paid at least 1 week before the course starts.

Introduction to Mindfulness WorkshopThis is a useful introduction if you are thinking of attending an eight week course.
This session is an introduction to Mindfulness meditation practise, and no prior experience is necessary.
During the session you will be introduced to the concept of Mindfulness and be able to participate in one or two Mindfulness meditations. I will give an overview of how you can introduce Mindfulness into your daily routine, and there will also be plenty of opportunity for questions.
